
Richard E. Torkelson, MDRichard E. Torkelson was born and raised in Lusk, Wyoming. After attending the University of Wyoming, he entered medical school at the University of Colorado in 1967. Upon completion of his internship at San Bernardino County Hospital in California in 1972, he returned to Colorado and attended the University of Colorado Medical Center for his orthopaedic residency program, graduating in 1976.
In 1977, he began his orthopaedic surgery practice in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He and his wife Dorothy have a son, a daughter and five grandchildren. He has served as Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Department of Surgery and has been on the Board of Directors of DePaul Hospital. He is the President of WINhealth Partners.
He treats patients within all areas of orthopaedic surgery, with the exception of spinal disorders.
Outside interests include raising Arabian horses, Young Men's Literary Club, and being an avid fan of the Denver Broncos. He looks forward to riding horses and skiing with his grandchildren.
